General purpose steel

They are common steels with medium-low strength, used for the manufacture of parts that must withstand modest static stresses (metallic carpentry, load-bearing structures, etc.). They do not contain special added alloy elements and are not subjected to heat treatments, except for annealing or normalizing.

Generally they are characterized by good weldability. Only mechanical resistance is guaranteed for them. They are marketed in the form of bars, sheets, profiles, etc., usually produced by hot rolling.
